As always a varied cornucopia of grooviness to tantalise you with this Halloween. In addition to the new 12" Sex Mix of The Monster Mash I'll be hitting you with new deepness of Quintesstentials, with a track from their forthcoming double release, Hyperdub, celebrating their fifth anniversary, will be repesented, Cio D'or, who has an album imminent on Prologue also. The Dave Kelso guest spot has been rescheduled until a show somewhere between now and Christmas so . . .

Last Nights Playlist:

It's a lovely sunny Sunday in Suffolk. I've just had roast chicken with roast potatoes with mango, pineapple and kiwi fruit to polish it off. I'm sitting with a coffee surveying all that lies before me and wondering how much more complete my life could be at this moment. For some people nirvana could be reached by letting off a rather loud fart, for others throwing a rubber brick at the tv when the red-nosed Alex Ferguson comes into range. For me though, it's plotting world domination by blog. I am very lazy though. One thing at a time.

Here's last night's playlist while I'm in the mood.

God Of The Machine - Ricardo Jefferson (Third Ear)
Bounce To Me - Tolfrey & Ramirez (Phonica)
Swallowed Too Much Bass (KW's "Pop Dat Cat" remix) - Steve Bug feat Paris The Black Fu (Poker Flat)
Within You (Lerosa remix) - Mark O'Sullivan (Nice & Nasty)
Wipes - Markus Homm (Highgrade Digital)
I Lose My . . .- GummiHz feat Emena (Mobilee)
Bounce The Blues - John Shenanigans (Circus Company)
Grasshopper - Dub Dummies (Darek)
Words, Breaths & Pauses - Cheap & Deep Productions (Cheap & Deep)
No One Can Hear Your Echo In Space - Samulli Kemppi (Prologue)
Aesaunic - Scuba (Hotflush)
Black Sun - Greg Gow (Transmat)

Range - Robert Hood (M-Plant)
Fuse (Dixon remix) - The Machine (Innervisions)
Desert Storm - XDB (Metrolux)
Instant In You - Audion (Spectral Sound)
Intro Ducing - Mathias Kaden (Vakant)
Swedish Woman - Gestoten Cirkel (Murder Capital)

Next show comes up on Halloween with Frijsfo Beats' Dave Kelso, aka DJ Oslek at the controls.

Keep it locked.

Wolf & Lamb Mix

Wolf and Lamb are gathering momentum with every click of my mouse. They are omnipresent mix merchants and, if every word written about them is to be believed, on a mission to save house music from itself. Here's a set recorded two nights ago at Paris' Djoon. It's six hours long; Dan Ghenacia was also on the bill but I don't know if he makes an appearance as I've only listened to the first two hours so far. What I've heard though I like.

Tomorrow's Show

As the nights draw ever inwards there is a veritable plethora of electronic music to keep you company within the confines of your own accomodation. So much to play so little time. I couldn't squeeze in everything I wanted to in the last show, so Scuba's newie on Hotflush will get an airing, as well as Kris Wadsworth remixing Steve Bug. New techno ambience from Cio D'Or and sundry quality deepness.

Keep it locked.

Random Thoughts

Stream of consciousness here. Walking along through the shops the other day, with the Tony Lionni Mixmag Info podcast wrapped around my head I was struck initially by how full on it was. I've never seen Lionni live but it wasn't as deep and chin stroking as I had expected. Darn good though, with loads of energy and some wonderfully discordant sonar bleeps over the top. Anyway, am I the only person who thinks of anacondas or pythons eating abnormally large quadrupeds while dark tech house is banging out? Or egg eating snakes, or anything remotely resembling animals battling to the death. I put it down to too much exposure to cheaply made visuals in clubs and raves back in the mists of time. Ripe for a revival methinks.

Matthew Styles Live At Beach Club Beach 1.8.09

Purloined from the Out There A Minute blog, this is two and a half hours of house from the ever-reliable Matt Styles. I have to come clean and say that while Bill Patrick was good for the first hour, he went on a Tribal Twisted trip during the second and it was a little too much for my liking. Good recording though, as is this. Here's a link to Out There A Minute's interview with Matt, and here's another to download the mix.

And if that isn't enough Styles action for you, here's a link to a post from June and his excellent Gent set.

Bill Patrick Live At Dance Marathon ll, Bacau 12.9.09

I've just realised that it's nearly two weeks since my last post, but I'm going through a phase of laziness and just emerging from my summer hibernation. Hopefully a lot to come n=between now and Christmas. Anyway, thought I'd post this mix from Bill Patrick who I've been keeping an eye on for a few years now. He has an eye for the messy and likes to lay down a hedonistic druggy groove. As you can see from the flyer there's a few others on the bill, and their sets are all available, but I like Mr Patrick, and what I've listened to so far doesn't disappoint.
